Job description

We are seeking an Associate Engineer to join the AMAAD Office Svcs Div of the Office Services Department.
The AMAAD Office Svcs Div is responsible for overseeing the leasing and operational management of office space at AMAAD, accommodating over 5,000 office users. Its responsibilities include ensuring 24/7 operational efficiency of office facilities through inspections, maintenance coordination, and user interactions; managing logistics such as receiving and checking materials; and handling project logistics during scheduled shutdowns. The division also oversees janitorial services and parking management, and serves as the first response team during emergencies and incidents.
Additional duties include facilitating the distribution of giveaways and important announcements, coordinating air conditioning, underground infrastructure, fire systems, elevators, electrical systems, and preventive maintenance activities with U&FSD, and managing sanitation and gardening services in coordination with U&FSD and CCSD. The division collaborates with FRPD, U&FSD, CCSD, and LPD to rectify Quality Safety Inspection (QSI) findings, manages all equipment and assets, and implements various projects aimed at enhancing operational performance.
The primary role of the Associate Engineer is to assist in engineering analysis, development, design, coordination, and control of assigned projects within any recognized engineering discipline. The position requires incumbents to possess training, technical knowledge, and the ability to apply engineering principles within their specialty, along with a working understanding of related engineering fields and applicable codes and standards.

Key responsibilities

Supports the development of engineering solutions and the formulation of design basis by collecting and analyzing data related to operational requirements, process considerations, and economic factors to support proposals for new construction, modifications, or equipment maintenance. Monitors and inspects the construction progress of assigned projects to ensure compliance with company engineering standards; recommends or confirms design modifications, material, and equipment substitutions; and ensures costs remain within approved budgets or justifies any overruns. Participates in developing cost estimates for engineering, labor, equipment, and materials based on the analysis of preliminary design data; assists in resolving related issues as they arise.

Minimum requirements

Successful candidates must hold a Bachelor of Science in Engineering with a major in Mechanical Engineering. Minimum of five years of experience in operation maintenance and engineering activities, including analysis, development, design, coordination, and project control. Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in the candidate’s engineering specialty. Working knowledge of related engineering disciplines. Ability to apply applicable codes and standards effectively.

Certification Required

Must hold a Bachelor of Science in Engineering with a major in Mechanical Engineering.
